Member Service Representative

Position Summary:
The Member Service Representative is responsible for providing a high level of service to members through knowledge of GASCU’s products and services.
Assist members with personal or non-personal accounts, retirement accounts and loans.
Ensure that Members receive prompt, efficient and high-quality service.
The ability to cross sell and provide information about our products and services is part of the essential duties.
The Member Service Representative satisfies our members’ needs and effectively resolves concerns for members in branch, by email or by telephone.
Duities and Responsibilities include:
- Opens Personal, Business, Trust, and IRA Accounts.
- Assist members with changes to existing accounts.
- Build positive relationships with members with the ability to assess member needs.
- Assists members with credit union’s online banking and mobile app set up.
- Ensure cooperation / teamwork and assist other staff members as needed.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of all IRS rules and regulations related to IRA accounts contributions, distributions, and rollovers.
- Exercises strong oral and written communication skills to explain Credit Union policies and resolve basic member financial needs.
- Maintain a working knowledge and understanding of all audit and compliance regulations.
- Back up for the Postal Branch
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Proficient in using a personal computer and Microsoft Office, Excel, and Outlook.
- Knowledge of types of account ownership and vesting.
- Knowledge of regulations related to financial institutions.
- Knowledge of IRA and Retirement products.
- California Notary Public License
- Knowledge of consumer loan products.
Education and Experience:
- Two years of experience in a financial institution or a credit union.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Corelation experience is desirable.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms. The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to twenty-five pounds.
