Real Estate Loan Officer
Employment Type: Full Time Non- exempt

Report To: COO
Pay Range: $23.00 to $45.00
Position Summary:
The loan Officer provides excellent service to Members, seeking information on real estate lending products and develops relationships with Members in an effort to increase and retain participation in lending products and services.
Duties and Responsibilities:
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Assists members with real estate lending needs.
- Advises Members of all related ancillary services and appropriate credit union products.
- Respond to inquiries about mortgage applications, processing status, problems and concerns.
- Ensure progress and inclusion of required mortgage processing information (e.g. verifications of employment, assets, income and liabilities, appraisal reports.
- Monitor mortgage loan process and ensure compliance with State and Federal laws.
- Responsible for HMDA reporting.
- Performs rate updates to the system for our variable rate real estate loans.
- Process and underwrite HELOC loan program.
- Works with CU RE participant MFM (Members first Mortgage).
- Acts as the Real Estate loan funder.
- Presents the completed package for underwriter review.
- Process and update all clerical work pertaining to Real Estate Loans.
- Provides general information on credit union services and policies.
- Documents and processes member requests for additional information; forwards requests requiring additional action to appropriate personnel.
- Remains cognizant of and adheres to GASCU policies and procedures, and regulations pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act.
- Performs other related duties as required or appropriate
Skills and Abilities:
- Requires knowledge of real estate landing. Knowledge and experience with the residential real estate loan origination process, including processing, underwriting, pricing, documentation, compliance (TRID). First trust mortgage loans (fixed-rate and adjustable), home equity loans and home equity lines of credit.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Organized, self-starter and team oriented.
- Effective human relations skills in order to maintain positive and productive working relationships with all departments.
- Attends meetings with peers, participates in in-house training, self-studies, outside seminars and classes.
- Notary Public License.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma
- Three (3) or more years’ experience in real estate lending, Loan officer or processor.
