Jr. IT Network Administrator
Position Type: Full Time
Pay Range: $40,000.00 to $80,000.00 Annually
Department: Information Technology
Reports To: CFO
Position Summary:
Jr. IT Network Administrator provides technical expertise and support to fellow employees for their desktop systems, workplace software, hardware requirements, and network assistance when needed. Acts as the Prime Subject Matter Expert (SME) in one or more of our core operating systems. Gathers, examines and interprets data and information to extract meaningful insights.
Answers business questions and provides actionable recommendations.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Maintain the organization’s hardware and software.
- Assist staff with any issues hardware and software-related issues.
- Communicate and work closely with affiliated vendors related to IT.
- Monitor and perform routine system operations, troubleshoot, and rectify network issues.
- Assist in system enhancements in both the test and production environments.
- Implement and train staff on various system enhancements.
- Be familiar with the organization’s IT policy and create, maintain, and update procedures that correlate with policy.
- Keep current with your assigned operational system(s).
- Advise management of system enhancements and recommendations.
- Assist with IT audits and remediation.
- Assist with O365 configuration and changes
- Assist with VOIP system
Expectations:
- To provide prompt, knowledgeable, and courteous support to staff and third-party vendors.
- Perform daily operations routines on schedule and as error-free as possible.
- Be able to function independently and unsupervised.
- Continually evaluate, revise, or create new processes that will benefit I.T., and or the credit union.
- Constantly keep superiors informed of any irregular behavior of any system.
- Thinks creatively to address unique or ambiguous situations and helps find solutions to problems that can be complex and non-routine.
- Assesses information security impact on a project’s benefits and risks when scoping changes.
- Upon occasion work earlier, later, and/or longer.
Qualifications:
- Ability to exercise good judgment by using proper prioritization and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to operate computer terminals and printers for extended periods.
- Ability to get to and from various work areas during work hours.
- Ability to independently research new technology implementations and document new processes.
Education and Experience:
- Experience: Minimum of 6 months to two years of financial institution experience and/or data processing production experience.
- Education: Equivalent to a four-year college degree or completion of a specialized course of study at a business or trade school.
- Interpersonal Skills: Courtesy, tact, diplomacy, honesty, and tenacity are essential elements of the job.
- Work involves personal contact with others inside and outside the CU, generally regarding matters that vary from routine research to troubleshooting.
- Understanding of information security risk and regulatory requirements.
- Being effective in the ability to express oneself and understand what is being communicated is essential.
- Other Skills: Fundamental knowledge of how to use: pc hardware and software, printers, tape drive units, etc.
- Good project management and organizational, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
- Working knowledge of computer networking or operation concepts, means, and practices.
- Verbal & written communication skills
Performs all duties and assignments in compliance with credit union policies and appropriate regulatory statutes, including BSA regulations and those that correspond with specific job duties.
